Name:

Anneliese Feld

Education:

BS, Social Work, University of Washington

MPH, Master of Public Health, University of Illinois

PhD Program:

Human and Community Development, Human Development and Family Studies

Research Interest:

Anneliese is interested on the impact public policy has on healthy childhood eating patterns and wellbeing, especially on low-income and at-risk youth.  She is currently studying the impact of the Child and Adult Care Food Program through a comprehensive policy scan to determine if the ways in which states implement the program impacts the health outcomes of at-risk children. Once completed with her PhD work, Anneliese would like to continue her work with public policy by identifying opportunities for change and working with local, state, and federal government agencies to optimize their programs.

MPH Practicum Experience:

Ms. Feld worked with the University of Illinois Extension to create an instructional program to be used by Extension for childcare providers in Illinois. The instruction teaches about the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), including how to prepare for the upcoming menu requirement changes, solving budgeting and menu planning problems before they arise, and the importance of the mealtime environment and modeling. The instruction is adaptable to a wide variety of forms (i.e. internet, PowerPoint, and/or print form).
